Results of the JSC TATNEFT's Resource Saving Program for 2012

      The results of the second year implementation of the target-oriented program of JSC TATNEFT for resource conservation were summarized. The implementation of resource saving measures in 2012 actually resulted in the TATNEFT Group Companies saving 51.6 thousand tons of reference fuel. The main part of the saving falls on the electric power: 45 percent.

      The best results were achieved by NGDU "Almetyevneft", NGDU "Elkhovneft" and NGDU "Aznakaevskneft."
561 activities were carried out during the year 2012 with 220 of them aimed at saving electricity. The specific energy consumption for crude oil production by NGDU's (Oil and Gas Production Boards) of JSC TATNEFT for the year 2012 amounted to 116.6 kWh/t (planned figure was 117.9 kWh/t), which is lower than the planned value by 1.1 percent.
      The results of the program implementation demonstrate that the greatest effect was obtained for the following activities: reducing the produced water volume through selective stopping highly watered wells (21 percent); overhaul repair of pumps in the reservoir pressure maintenance system (13 percent); reducing the water production volume through water shutoff by application of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods (4.6 per cent).
      The Company's contribution to the development of the energy-efficient production has been noted at the governmental level. In 2012 JSC TATNEFT was recognized as the best among the fuel industry companies at the Republican contest "Resource Efficiency. Energy Saving".
      Oil service companies in Tatarstan are also involved in the resource saving program of JSC TATNEFT. Such companies as OOO "Tatneft-RemServis", OOO "System Service" Management Company and OOO "Tatneft-Energoservice" Management Company have demonstrated significant results

The JSC TATNEFT's comprehensive program of resource saving was developed and approved in 2010 for the period up to 2020. Its aims and objectives were harmonized with the requirements of the Federal Law on Energy saving, as well as with the State program of energy conservation and energy efficiency, approved by Russian Federation Government Executive Order No.2446-r dated December 27, 2010.
The scope of the new program is wider than the previous one and covers not only energy, but also natural and material resources. In addition to structural divisions it involves service management companies as well.
The results of the program implementation through introduction of energy efficient technologies shall be saving of energy and fuel resources: 7.4 percent of the baseline consumption by 2015 and 13.5 percent in 2020. The assignment to conserve energy for the Company for 2011-2012 was 3 percent of the baseline consumption.
